Bottom Fishing In Florida

Bottom fishing can be an art and takes a lot of fishing knowledge. It can be hit or miss but having an experienced angler with you will be in good shape. I will use anchoring and drifting methods for bottom fishing. A variety of species can be caught including: Mangrove, Mutton, Lane and Red Snapper. Amberjacks are the toughest fighters we have on the bottom. Unlike Grouper that can’t adjust to the pressure changes when you pull them off the bottom, the Amberjack will fight all the way to the surface.

I have a full arsenal of equipment that we will need and enough rigging material to quickly produce up to a dozen rigs during the course of a full day offshore (sometimes more depending on the structure you’re fishing). The basic components of a bottom rig are hooks, leaders, swivels, and weights. I can give you some great hints and ways of bottom fishing that you will be able to use for your next fishing venture.
